Where Summer Was is a photographic publication by Giacomo Papaccio exploring seasonal landscapes once their purpose has faded. Set in temporary coastal environments, the project focuses on what remains after the tourist season ends, traces, structures, surfaces, and atmospheres suspended between presence and absence.

The publication combines analog photography with experimental image-making processes, including film soup techniques that introduce unpredictability, alteration, and decay into the images themselves. sequencing plays a central role in the narrative, gradually shifting from controlled architectural landscapes toward more abstract and organic visual forms.
