Published on the occasion of a three-part exhibition at Perrotin in Paris, this special issue of The Steidz looks at the work of Nick Goss, Koak and Katherina Olschbaur. These talents have all signed their images with a specific substance, whether inspired by past markers or drawn from the present day. The eye wanders between smooth strokes, collage-like echoes, and fragmented scenes. Taken altogether, these international artists thus demonstrate a certain resistance in painting, resolutely committed to figuration, which keeps bridging yesterday and today in a promising way.
