PURE WATA ZINE is an independent print magazine based in Accra, Ghana. 

Our latest issue showcases the work of over 40 creatives from Ghana and West Africa – from photography, essays and poetry to collages and textile art. In Ghana, ‘pure wata’ sachets are the most accessible water and with the increase of polluted water bodies and illegal gold mining, they have remained a key way for many people to access drinking water. In a sachetised economy that relies on cutting down items for consumption at lower costs, reliance on ‘pure wata’ is at once survival and creativity. This context forms the basis of the zine’s goal of archiving everyday forms of art making and collaging snippets of liberation – following our ethos that 'Art, like water, is for everyone'.
