Common Ivy explores closeness that persists despite distance. Centered on my partner as the sole subject, the photographs are tightly cropped and intimate, lingering on fragments of touch, skin, and quiet presence rather than whole scenes. Shot over the course of a year across Australia, France, and Germany, the work mirrors the rhythm of our long-distance relationship—brief moments of physical proximity separated by stretches of absence. Like ivy that grows across gaps to stay connected, the close framing resists geographical distance, collapsing space through intimacy and attention, and turning separation into something tactile and near.
