Hamburg-based artist Peter Piller has built up a vast archive: photographs from daily newspapers, collected and sorted under a multitude of keywords. Revolver Verlag has now published a small selection: “Searched and Sealed,” “Nothing to See Yet,” “These Unknowns,” “Those Responsible Are Unanimous,” “Eyesore/Gem,” “Stumbling Block”—six volumes consisting exclusively of images, some accompanied by brief captions, others a wordless sequence. A mountain of everyday crime stories, of everyday madness, of murder, corruption—and simply people. (Sabine B. Vogel, kunst&bücher, 12/2002)
