Noisé #4
Noisé 04 PRISM (Fall/Winter 2024) reflects our editorial mission to reveal hidden dimensions of talent, innovation, and artistic expression—just as a prism unveils the full spectrum of light. This edition brings together powerful voices and stories that uncover the many layers of art, fashion, and culture.
At the heart of this issue is a 56-page feature on Roni Horn, exploring both her iconic and recent works, self- reflections, and instinctive creative power. Alaïa’s creative director Pieter Mulier visits artist Mark Manders’ studio in Ronse for the first time, while the trailblazing women gallerists—Chantal Crousel, Liza Essers, and Luisa Strina—share their invaluable insights. We also step into the working environment of artists Kiki Smith and Alicja Kwade as they reveal the ongoing evolution of their latest projects.
In Upstate New York, Lexie Smith discusses her evolving roles as a mother, sister, and artist. In Lisbon, Conie Vallese’s life and journey are captured through Ana Roque’s lens, while in Amsterdam, we visit Marte Mei van Haaster in her creative space.
This issue also presents Mika Schneider, photographed by Angèle Châtenet in Alaïa. We dive into artist Jiro Takamatsu’s artistic journey, examining his impact on both Japanese and international contemporary art, and collaborate with David Zwirner Books on their ambitious ventures in art publishing.
We uncover new perspectives on Jean-Michel Basquiat’s work through insights from Larry Gagosian and Fred Hoffman. Thaddaeus Ropac and Tom Sachs reflect on their nearly 30-year collaboration, while Michal Rovner looks back on her prismatic 40-year career.
