CULTURE THROUGH DIASPORA. The Road to Nowhere (TRTN) returns for its fourth volume on 10 June 2026, available online and in store worldwide through an extensive distribution network. This issue continues to celebrate international voices of the diaspora through photography and essays, featuring 21 artists internationally.

Volume 4 sees 21 contributors across the globe, spanning all artistic mediums from photography to calligraphy and music, sharing their experiences through personal creative interpretation.

From New York where Sudanese Sara Elawad’s brings us into the world of kitsch Islamic graphics to Thailand where Isabelle Zhao takes us to a multigenerational boxing club; to Jermain Cikic who aims to piece together his paternal homeland in former Yugoslavia through quotidien intricacies and Ocean Vuong who revisits labour, class, and migration through the lived experience of his Vietnamese-American family.

This volume features three covers by Wesaam Al Badry, Adam Lin, and Thalia Gochez. The hero cover is dedicated to Mexican-Salvadoran artist Thalia Gochez, who Editor Dalia had the pleasure of speaking with about her work, mostly shot in Los Angeles and wider California – also the home of CHIRLA, the magazine’s charity partner this year – where she intentionally collaborates with her subjects, opposing an extractionist approach that so many diasporic communities are tired of experiencing.
