Love #25
Love—the popular fashion bible founded in 2009 by industry titan Katie Grand with financial backing from Condé Nast—recently returned after a five year hiatus under new creative direction. Heading the masthead, it’s Juan Costa Paz and Nordine Benotmane, visionary co-founders of Paris-based creative agency Convoy, who acquired the legacy title following a successful stint of creative direction at Vogue.
This Spring/Summer 2026 ‘Dead Serious’ issue responds to a broadly felt sense of cultural stagnation, as well as repetition in recent fashion weeks, by turning to comedy to both escape and confront the zeitgeist. As Juan and Nordine write in their editorial: ‘Comedy might be the last honest language left.’
Cover stars include Gigi Hadid—who loses her head in a playful homage to the 1992 cult classic ‘Death Becomes Her’—alongside actress Sandra Hüller, rising popstar Tokischa, seven-foot-four basketball prodigy Victor Wembanyama, and the triple threat—comedian, writer, actress—Ziwe. Fashion stories this edition include a Nollywood parody of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, reimagined with traditional Nigerian headwear in ‘The Devil Wears Gele’, and an improvised shoot the Love team dreamt up after an unnamed rising actress failed to show on the day. Elsewhere, the intersection of comedy and tragedy is explored through conversations with Iranian comedian Zeinab Mousavi, who arms herself with humour as a weapon of defence against the repressive regime of her home country, Argentinian former actress turned experimental musician Juana Molina, and ‘Black Mirror’ screenwriter Charlie Brooker.
