Spontan #01
"Spontan" is a photobook of spontaneous pictures I took with the phone, capturing people from different backgrounds and layers of life, as well as some personal moments of my life.
As a perfectionist, I often struggle with the feeling that things are unfinished and not perfect. The name "Spontan" reflects my journey toward relaxation and acceptance of mistakes. Here, everything doesn't have to be flawless. I've always been fascinated by people from diverse backgrounds how they think, speak, and interact. This curiosity led me to engage in conversations with a variety of individuals and eventually to capture these interactions visually. Photography became my way to archive these moments and preserve their memory. One day, I realized I had a substantial archive of photos and videos, and I began to compile them, creating a photobook.
Capturing spontaneous scenes has a unique energy. As a child, I collected stones and felt joy when I found unique ones. Now I experience the same happiness when capture unique scenes.
"Spontan" celebrates spontaneity, imperfection, and the beauty of everyday moments, exploring Armenian culture and people.
